As in past events of same fashion, the purpose is to master 3 items (the Ancient Relics), to win the Grand Prize:

There are 3 items to master: Mayan Calendar, Aztec Knife and Inca Mask.
Each item has 3 mastery levels; bronze requires 4 items to be collected; silver mastery 8 items, and finally the gold level 16 items.
So the math is that to get the Grand Prize it is needed to collect 28 of each of the three items, so a total of 84 items.
And if this event works as the last ones, and we are able to master the event during 3 rounds, then we will need to collect 84 mayan calendars + 84 aztec knifes + 84 inca masks = 252 items.
For each item mastery level, we get the next extra mastery rewards:
