As same time as upper Regions from Italy were released, Zynga decided to update the Fight Club at Marketplace.


It is a decision which may have raised much controversy, since Zynga removed the 3 Fight Club related achievements, and some other loot, but specially because Zynga removed the 3 types of fighter energy refills (costing 0, 2 and 7 Reward Points), and placed just one costing 5 RP.
A few days later Zynga decided to to add back the no RP costing fighter energy refill.

There is a new promotion, which seems featured for new Mafia Wars players:

Zynga has released new event to send/get free gifts and open limited amount of items per day:

Hollow Warriors : Smuggle Contraband

 The Free Gifts to start sending and receiving are those terracotta style Hollow Warriors:


These Hollow Warriors follow the procedure of other events like Pignatas, Time Capsules, Coffins, ... We may open 5 of them every day ( the rest will work as if they were Mystery Bags).

Zynga has added the chance to send free mafia for our mafia, and Join the Club 501 ! (that is, maximize our mafia)


According to Zynga ( from their official blog):

Hired Guns For Sale Free! You read it right! Hired Guns will soon appear on the Free Gift page and this is great news for Mafia Wars players who haven't acquired a mafia of 501. Each Free Gift will contain 2 Hired Guns and every player with a mafia of less than 501 will be able to accept 5 a day

This means that this way mafia will be  increased a max of 10 members per day.

This Free Gift will be helpful for those needing to max mafia and for any reason having problem on joining new players to their mafia.

Anyways adding real helpful players is always a benefit, to get events (Challenge Missions, Special Events, Social Jobs, Social Operations,...) completed quicker !

Limited Time Shoulder Mounted Cannon (40/67) replaces Pay Back, to be built at Weapons Depot.


 This item adds +2 Attack to skills stats and we may build this item during the next 14 days.

Notice that if we compare this item to other weapons that we may build in Weapons Depot, both Venture Axe and Flambe Torch have better defense stat (72), and regarding skills added to our stats, Stun Knuckles provide +6  Attack skills.

Just before Christmas of 2010, 2 of the Free Gifts events left working: the Secret Drops and the Red Mystery Bags Free Gifts that we send to our Mafia. They worked instead as Mystery Bags.

As of today, Secret Drops are working again, so we can send them to our Mafia and they will work as usual: we can open 3 of them every day.

Red Mystery Bags still don't work. We can receive the reward for for the Red Mystery Bag that we find randomly, but if we send it to Mafia, they will recieve a Mystery Bag instead.

Zynga has released a new Marketplace "substore": Trader Goh's Pawn Shop


The Pawnshop becomes accessible when a player reaches level 20. In addition to the level 20 requirement, the Pawnshop will be gradually released to all players. For a short period of time a small group of randomly selected users may not have access to this feature.
We have the chance the trade our obsolete loot for new fresh one, though in the process we may spend also some Rewards Points. It sounds like another feature to get and spend Rewards Points ...


Let's see how it works:

1.- SELECT ITEM: Trader Goh has many items for sale.
In the item info box we can find how many items needed to make a trade, and also how many Reward Points it will cost that trade. For example for Snarler, they are needed 4 Uncommon and 2 Common; besides, 2 Reward Points. The better the item, the requirements to trade are higher, more expensive.



2.- PICK YOUR ITEMS: Fill the trade value by selecting one of your items to trade in.
There is a choice to buy directly (with no loot trade) the item we wish to get, for Reward Points.



3.- MAKE THE TRADE: Once you have selected all your items to trade in, click the Make the Trade button.


Once we confirm the trade, we get our new item. After these two levels of confirmation, all trades with Trader Goh are final.

Take in count that items earned through trading cannot be gifted.


There is no wait period between trades (no trade limit), we can do as many as we wish.

If you know Pignatas, then you already know how these Coffins will work: we can open 5 of them every day ( the rest will work as if they were Mystery Bags).

After trying some coffins, it seems that those Handbaskets are easier to get than other previous events ultimate items! (Iron Titan, Gray Wolf, ...)

Zynga has released a new limited time item, the Pay Back:

We may build it in Weapons Depot, and it will increase our defense skills in 2 points.

It requires new part, Ammunition (Free Gift from our Mafia), to build it:


For the first item, we need 10 Ammunition, and 5 of those parts for the next ones.

We have to find first 2 rare items, 3 uncommon and 2 common items:
